Global Communication Center (GCC) as an R&D wing of Grameen Communications aims to produce and promote ICT technologies to provide social services to and generate income for the people at the BoP (Base of the Pyramid i.e. a socio economic term). The major target of research activity is to identify technical requirements and develop services along with business models that are replicable and self-sustaining.
GCC has been launched as a project of Grameen communications based on the agreement between Grameen Communications, Bangladesh and Kyushu University, Japan to carry out collaborative research towards the goal building a social information infrastructure model in developing countries.
