This is Chhaygaon Union, which is located under the Upazila of Bhedarganj of Shariatpur District. The area of the union is about 6 square kilometers. According to the census of the y ear 2001, the population of this union is 13,961; among which 6,849 are men and 7,112 are women. This union is bordered by Mohishar at the east, Konesshor union of Damudda at the south, Bijhari of Naria at the north, and Palong and Ruddrokor of Shariatpur at the west. There are 15 villages under this union; they are: Lakarta, Arji Pom, Ater Para, Boro Chhaygaon, Baroi Jungle, Chhotromuria, Damgaria, Gangshar, Kajolkot, Eyejhara, Monua, Nazimpur, Paprail, Roghur Bagh, Shingachura.
The major occupations of people are farming, business and service. Here, the literacy rate is about 54.98 percent. Among the total population 12,437 are the Muslims and 1,524 are the followers of Hinduism. It is about 6 kilometers west from Upazila headquarter.
