Social Development Initiative at Ekhlaspur

A social development initiative has been taken by the sons and daughters of late Mr. Tozammel Hoque Sarker and Ms. Tanjuma Khatun in Ekhlaspur, Chandpur. The project consists of developing a twenty-bed Diabetic and Eye Hospital, a twenty-bed Mother and Child Care Hospital and an ICT Training Lab. Other facilities such as, community gathering and lecture halls and guest accommodation will be paired with the services. The family has donated thirty-eight decimal land for the project and the proposed project cost is about BDT twenty millions. Currently, the initial construction works are going on. The project is expected to be completed by 2016. It is located at the west of Miaji Bari and at the north-west corner of Ekhlaspur bazaar with is adjacent to a twelve-foot brick-paved road. The children of Mr. Tozammel Hoque who are carrying out this great initiative are: Advocate Nasir Uddin (Chandpur), Mr. Zahir Uddin (Sydney, Australia), Dr. Rabiul Ahasan (Associate Professor, Malaysia) and Mr. Mosiur Rahman (Ekhlaspur), Ms. Salina Begum (Dhaka) and Ms. Aklima Begum (Mudafar, Mohonpur) A team from Rural Electrification Board of Bangladesh (REB) has visited the construction site on December 13, 2014.
